LACQUER LUST: Butter London 'Slapper'

Butter London has one of the best nail polish formulations I've ever tried.  They're creamy and opaque with just two coats.  The only downfall for Butter London is its price point.  I always cringe a little when I look at the price: $14. But, the trade off is, the polish lasts super long and all the colors are beautiful.

This shade in particular is absolutely gorgeous for the summertime.  It's a true, bright turquoise shade.  It photographs much more blue than it really is because in person, it definitely leans more towards the green side.  When I saw this shade in person,  I couldn't resist it.  It had to be in my collection right away! And I definitely don't regret that decision.  However, I have one little weird thing about this polish.  The color almost changes shades once you put a top coat on.  It turns much more green once the top coat is applied.  I found it turned REALLY green with the Seche Vite top coat, however I've began using a Sally Hansen top coat and the color change isn't too bad.  Either way, this color is gorgeous and definitely unique enough so it's worth the steep price.

Jordana

    1. Yeah, but it's actually worth it when you get it! Just make sure to get a shade that's unique to Butter and then the guilt won't be as bad, hahahaha.

  2. Haha I love the name 'Slapper'. V British! Don't feel bad about the $14 price, they are almost $10 more here in Australia :(

  3. That's so strange that the colour changes when applying a top coat! But that colour is gorgeous, so vibrant and unique. It does look like a beautiful formula. I only have one Butter London polish (Yummy Mummy) which I got free from a magazine promotion, but the formula is amazing. Too bad it retails for $22 here!

    1. Oh my, that's so much money! I've actually heard a lot about Yummy Mummy! Maybe I'll give it a try! And yes, it's really strange it changes colors. There was a beauty guru on youtube who said the same thing happened to her, but it only didn't happen with the Butter London top coat....so sneaky!

  8. I have this color and I have DEFINITELY noticed that it changes color with a topcoat. I even googled it, which is when I found your blog! I thought I was going crazy! It is gorgeous, though. I actually added Mermaid's Tail from Sally Hansen over my ring finger as an accent nail. Beautiful!
